on lawyers sport and social activities. It’s our Firm’s
philosophy to foster the widest participation in such fields,
where people learn how to stay together, to confront their
skills and compete loyally with others.
The close tie up with the
world of sport represents one of most characterizing
many of Tonucci's Lawyers. From
a professional point of view, the Firm has developed
a significant experience
in Sport Law in general, and the clients taking advantage
of our services are amongst the most representative subjects
in national and international sports field. Therefore,
many of the Tonucci’s Lawyers specialized in Sport
Law also cover important positions in judging organs
of national and international sports Federations, while
the Firm itself has participated in the organization
of big sport events, taking care of the legal aspects
of national and international sport contests – amongst
the others – of Golf, Tennis, Soccer, Formula 1,
Fencing, Sailing and Gymnastics.
Besides the aspects connected to the specialized legal
services related to the sports sector, there are additional
profiles reaffirming a special link between Tonucci & Partners and the world of sport.
For example, the Managing Partner Mario Tonucci is President
of the
Rome
Fencing Club, born
in 1961 from the merging of two prestigious fencing clubs
of Rome. The Club has extraordinary credentials either
for the big number of members, either for the impressive
list of successes in high level competitions, remarking
its background (22 Italian Championship titles, 5 Olympic
gold medals, 13 Olympic silver medals, 3 Olympic bronze
medals, 52 World Championships medals, 7 Europe Championship
medals). Mario Tonucci has also been president of
the Rome Gymnastic Club and he is still President of
the
Flaminio
Gymnastic Center.
Finally, the positive values of Sport, such as competition,
team spirit, and the aggregating power in pursuing the
most important goals (
as
it’s reminded by the bicycle used by the winner of Los
Angeles Olympic Games, exhibited in the Managing Partner’s
office),
are regarded as fundamental values also for exercising
forensic activities. From such a viewpoint Tonucci & Partners joins every year the soccer
Tournament “Avvocati
nel Pallone”, where the most famous Italian and
international law firms use their skills not to compete
in tribunal courtrooms but on a mini-soccer court. It
is to the history and to the actuality of this tournament,
where Tonucci & Partners & Partners has always
achieved brilliant results (
even
at European level, by winning the year 2000 continental
final in Brussels),
that this section of Portal is dedicated.
In addition, the same motivations has brought the Firm
to successfully participate (1
st place) at the first
edition of the
Lawyer’s Cup
2005 reserved to nine teams made up of lawyers of
different law firms, that took place in the Italian waters
of Porto Ercole in May 2005.
